Advanced Firearms Course
A Shepherds Tactical Training Course
The Advanced Firearms Training Course is designed for students who have completed both the Beginner and Intermediate Firearms Training courses, or who possess equivalent experience and foundational skills. This course builds on established safety principles and marksmanship fundamentals while introducing more dynamic, real-world shooting applications.
The course begins with dedicated classroom instruction appropriate for the advanced level. This portion includes a brief review of key concepts from both the Beginner and Intermediate courses, along with advanced instruction focused on movement, communication, use of cover, and safety considerations for dynamic shooting environments. This ensures all students begin the course aligned on expectations and prepared for live-fire application.
Following classroom instruction, students transition into live-fire training under the direct supervision of instructors and range officers. Live fire is introduced in a structured progression, allowing students to safely apply advanced techniques in a controlled setting. During this portion, students learn how to move safely while shooting, communicate clearly with other shooters, work alongside others in a coordinated manner, use barriers and cover effectively, and maintain situational awareness in dynamic environments.
All drills are conducted with clear instruction, defined boundaries, and close oversight. While this course introduces increased complexity, the emphasis remains on safety, control, and thoughtful execution rather than speed or competition.
Courses generally last four to six hours, depending on student needs, range logistics, and course structure. Pricing for the Advanced Firearms Training Course starts at $250 per person, with adjustments based on course requirements, range fees, or group size. Discounts are available for additional students taking the course together.
This course is designed to help students confidently apply their skills in more dynamic scenarios while maintaining strong safety habits and clear communication at all times.
