A Shepherds Tactical Training Course
The Beginner Defensive Tactics Training Course is designed to provide students with a practical, approachable introduction to personal safety and basic self-defense principles. This course focuses on awareness, prevention, and simple, effective techniques that can be applied in everyday situations.
This is an instructional, hands-on course that does not involve sparring or competitive fighting. The emphasis is on learning safe, controlled movements and building confidence in a supportive environment.
The course begins with classroom-based instruction covering foundational concepts such as situational awareness, personal safety strategies, legal considerations related to self-defense, and understanding when and how defensive actions may be appropriate. Students will also learn basic body mechanics and safety principles to help prevent injury during training.
Following the instructional portion, students will move into guided hands-on practice. This practical portion introduces fundamental defensive tactics, including basic stance and movement, balance and positioning, distance management, and simple defensive responses to common threats. All techniques are taught slowly and progressively, with instructor guidance and safety as the top priority.
Students are required to complete a brief written knowledge assessment to confirm understanding of the material presented. Successful completion of this assessment is required to advance within the defensive tactics training pathway.
Courses generally last 3 to 5 hours, depending on the needs, experience level, and pace of the student or group.
Pricing for the Beginner Defensive Tactics Training Course starts at $150 per person. Pricing may vary based on course needs or customization, and discounts are available for additional students taking the course together.
This course is designed to be informative, confidence-building, and accessible, giving students a solid foundation in personal safety and defensive awareness before progressing to more advanced training.
