In-Home Safety & Response Course
A Shepherds Tactical Training Course
This one is fun and exciting! Our In-Home Safety & Response Training brings instruction directly to your living space, allowing your family to learn practical safety strategies in the environment where they matter most, your home.
This course is designed for households where at least one adult member has completed our Advanced Firearms Training and Advanced Defensive Tactics Training, or can successfully demonstrate equivalent knowledge by passing our advanced-level assessments. This prerequisite ensures a shared foundation of safety, responsibility, and structure throughout the home before in-home training begins.
Once eligibility is met, our instructors will come to your residence to help you and your family prepare for high-pressure situations, such as a potential home invasion or emergency event. Training is tailored to your specific layout and household dynamics, making the instruction practical, realistic, and immediately applicable.
During in-home training, families will learn how to identify safe hiding locations and defensible spaces within the home, understand and practice basic corner awareness and clearing concepts, and establish a clear family chain of command to maintain structure during stressful situations. Students will also learn when and how to hide, barricade, or move safely if needed, identify potential escape routes and safe exit options, create and practice simple safety codes for family communication, and understand how to safely interact and communicate with responding law enforcement.
Instruction is calm, thoughtful, and age-appropriate, with an emphasis on communication, coordination, and decision-making rather than fear or intensity. Whenever appropriate, we keep the experience light-hearted and engaging by turning learning moments into simple games or challenges such as identifying safe spaces, planning barricades, or spotting exit routes, so families can learn together without the training feeling scary or overwhelming. The goal is not to turn a home into a tactical space, but to help families feel more confident, prepared, and unified if something unexpected occurs.
If this sounds like something your family would like to participate in, we are more than happy to help. We firmly believe that a family working together using clear communication and shared safety strategies can significantly improve outcomes and keep everyone safer during high-pressure situations.
